On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon! Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies! Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race! Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
Hi Sarah - Fellow Sweat Pink Ambassador here. While I've never struggled with major weight loss, I have struggled with doing "all the right things" and not seeing the scale budge. I'm sure this is a really tough time for you! The biggest piece of advice I could give is to track your calories for two weeks (if you don't already do this). Use something like myfitnesspal.com and track exactly what goes into your mouth. I realized that I was eating well but eating portions that were too large, and changing portion size made a huge difference for me. Perhaps this might help? Crossing my fingers you can see the changes you want to see soon!
ReplyDeleteYes Sarah, Jen is right! Myfitnesspal.com worked wonders for me. Also, keep up with the weight lifting. I did a 3 month program and my body fat percentage dropped 10 pct. This was the one element I was missing for so long and didnt even realice it. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteHey Sarah, It's Becky! I am so sorry you have been dealing with this. I know how hard it can be. I have been successfully losing weight since April due to Insanity and Shakeology. I know you said you didn't want a new workout or shake to try... but I just wanted to share what has been working for me. I've lost 31 pounds since April. I also have changed our diet in our home. I started counting calories too and it seemed to help some. I was more aware of what I was allowed to eat. I track my workout with my polar watch so I can see what I burned. I don't do it every single day like I should but when I do I notice it helps. If there is anything I know it's how bad it feels to be overweight. I am still very OW and have a long way to go. Keep your chin up girl... you got this.
