Week 4/Bondi Band

Tonight I started Week 4 of the Couch to 5K program! I had two 3 min. runs and two 5 min. runs. I was a little worried about the 5 min. runs since I barely handled the 3 min. last week, but to my surprise...I did it! All with the help of my wonderfully, amazing hubby! He pushed me all the way to the end! We ended up run/walking a 5K again. Last time we did it in 67 min., so we wanted to shave some time off . This time we did it in 59 min.! 8 min. shorter this time! :) I'm hoping to continue with decreasing my time as well as working my way up to running the whole 5K. My right shin is hurting again after this run, so I am icing both legs as I type! I am wanting to get some compression socks, but as they start around $50, I will be waiting on those! :)

 My post-run snack! I ❤ Banana's! :)

Tonight was my first time to use the Bondi Band I bought from The Wannabe Athlete for her Cancer Sucks fundraiser for her "Aunt" who is going through Chemo right now. Let me just say...It's pretty Amazing!!! It kept the sweat right off my face! I'm pretty sure I am in LOVE! :)

It's a pretty good thing that I love it so much, since I WON another one!!!
That's right! I was one of the 5 winners of one of the 5 Bondi Bands from!!! :)
I am so excited! I don't know which one I won yet, but I love all 5 of them! So I will update when I receive it in the mail! :) Thanks for having this great giveaway Shelby!

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
