My running & Stroller Strides! :)

I've been doing *ok* at getting my morning runs in.
It looks like Sophie has caught on to my getting up early to run without her and she has started to get up earlier and earlier.
This makes it difficult to get out the door when the hubs is still asleep and she is crying mommy mommy at the front door like I'm leaving her forever!
So, it looks like I either need to get up even earlier (booooo) or start running with her in the stroller again. It was just nice only having to get ONE person dressed and out the door. She's such a diva that she has to have her Hello Kitty pillow, her fan, her ICE water, her apple sauce, and usually a "baby" with her on every stroller ride.
Sometimes I just want to go run by myself with my music and not having to add extra weight trying to push her around the neighborhood!
But I NEED to run!
I can so badly tell when I haven't run that day.
Even if I go to my stroller strides class, I can still tell that I needed that extra run.
So I will have to make a sacrifice somewhere!

That brings me to my next thing!
Stroller Strides (aka Fit4Mom)!!!

I can't remember if I mentioned it, but I won a 10 day free pass from the Fort Worth Moms Blog back in May.

I have absolutely LOVED it and I have decided to officially sign up and keep on going!
I love that it is for ANY fitness level, it is a GREAT workout, and I get to do it with Sophie!
It is absolutely AMAZING the things Sophie has picked up!
We will come home and she will start doing squats at the house! Then she picks up the resistance bands and starts trying to copy something we did that day! She will get down on the floor and start doing planks or sit ups! And she's always doing our daily stretches!
THAT is the main reason I wanted to keep going!
She is seeing mommy workout and seeing that it can be FUN!
She also loves to run around the house, pushing her baby doll in the stroller, screaming "run like mommy!!!"
I LOVE it!
It makes my heart SO happy!
Plus being around all of those other moms is so amazing!
So many awesome conversations and we are exercising and motivating one another together!
Our instructor is amazing as well!
She really knows her stuff and is so motivating to all of us!
It's just an amazing program and I hope all of you other moms will look it up!

You know how much I LOVE my Moms RUN This Town mommas!
Well I love my Stroller Strides mommas just as much!
Two FABULOUS groups of ladies! :)

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
