Diva Sarah!

In September 2014, I will have a bib on that says "DIVA SARAH"! :)
Yesterday, I signed up for the Peachtree City, Georgia Run Like a Diva Half Marathon!

I am over and beyond excited!
Not only will it be an awesome race, but it will be the Moms RUN This Town Inaugural Convention!!!
I get to meet all of the other Chapter Leaders that I have spent so much time getting to know over the past year and a half on Facebook!!!
There are already over 100 MRTT moms signed up and I can't wait to meet each and every one of them!
I am even more excited to meet Pam, the amazing superwoman who STARTED MRTT!!!
Can you tell I am EXCITED!!!! :)

As I mentioned before, the race isn't until September of next year.
This means I have plenty of time to prepare an get a fantastic sparkly pink skirt or tutu made!
I have to run in style!
At mile 13 they hand out pink feather boas and tiaras to everyone before they cross the finish line!
So I have to have my matching pink skirt for my fabulous picture! :)

Now...does anyone want to help fund my trip? lol :)

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
