Morning Person?

This will be a quick post as I have already gotten my "run" in and even walked my dog for half a mile and my child (and hubby) is still asleep! Heck yes!
Except I have to leave in 15 minutes for Stroller Strides and she's not even dressed.
That's ok. Cuz she's still asleep and I'm getting peace and quiet for a few more minutes!

I have so many posts that I want to write, but I just haven't had the motivation lately!
Right now I am coming off of being sick.
That's why I put the "" around "run, because it's more like walking with this cough I can't get rid of!

In other news, I now have a 2 yr old!! Pics to come soon! :)
I ran 2 miles on her birthday and I hope to continue that tradition in the years to come! :)

As far as the title of this post goes, I have actually started to really enjoy getting up at 6 to go run by myself! It's usually gorgeous outside and we have a nice little park and there are always lots of people out walking and running "with" me! It's really nice! I actually look forward to it and I missed it while I was on vacation for a week and then sick for a week!

So this Night Owl may just be turning into a morning person!
Does that mean I'm getting old?
I am 30 now... :)

Hope you all have a great week!
Make your Monday count!!! :)

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
