I'm Half Crazy! :)

It looks like I've gone Half Crazy!!!

I am signed up for 2 Half Marathons for 2013 already.
It looks like I'll be adding (at least) 2 more to my schedule soon! :)

The first on my schedule is the Moms RUN This Town Winter Runnerland Virtual Half Marathon!

I will be running it with several of my MRTT chapter members and can't wait! It's in January and I'll be using it as a "practice" Half for the next 3 that will be coming up!

The next one I will be signing up for soon is the Cowtown Half Marathon!

I wasn't planning on running this one, but so many of MRTT friends are running either the Full or the Half that I felt the want need to join in the fun! :) I'm super excited about it now, because it will be my first "real" Half with spectators to cheer us on! :) This one is on February 24!

Then I have already signed up for the Dallas Rock N Roll Half Marathon on March 24!
This was supposed to be my first "real" half, but now it will be my second! :)
I have heard from several other bloggers that will be going to this one also and I might have a MRTT friend coming down from Washington to run with me! I hope so anyway! :)

The 4th Half I WANT to sign up for is the Divas Half Marathon on April 28th!
This race is in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina!
This would be a Super Special Race for me for a couple of reasons.
1. It would be my first destination race.
2. It would be to celebrate my 30th Birthday!!!!

I've really been wanting to do something special for my 30th, but I hadn't figured out what yet!
Then a friend of mine said I should do a destination race and she would love to join me! I started looking online at what races were in April and came upon the Diva and thought this would be PERFECT! Pink, Girly, Tiaras, Feather Boas...yep sounds like a great way to say goodbye to my 20's and hello to my 30's! And a BIG plus, is my friend Maggie (the one I ran the Foam Fest with) turns 30 the day after me and she will hopefully be able to come join us as well! So we can celebrate our 30th and 12 yrs of friendship together in style! I've also been trying to recruit some of my other BRF's (Best Running Friends) to join me! I can't wait! I'm so excited!

I've been a bit scared to turn 30, but I'm beginning to see that it's going to be just as great if not beter than my 20's! Yes I got married in my 20's and had my amazing little girl in my 20's, but my 30's will be more amazing because I will be in the best shape of my life! I will be happy which will make the hubby and my daughter happier! I can't wait to see what is in store with my running!

I may run 4 Half Marathons while I am 29, but my 30's will bring on FULL MARATHONS!!! My goal is a FULL by 33! I think I can do it!! :)

What do you think?
Have a gone Half crazy running 4 Half Marathons in 4 months?
2013 is going to be AMAZING! :)

  2. I've been planning my 2013 race calendar too! I'm hoping that next year I will be able to find a RnR that will work with location and date.

  3. I have been eyeing the Diva race too. It is within an hour or so drive from where I live so very tempting!

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
