The Great Pumpkin Virtual Race!

My friend and I just participated in another Virtual race called The Great Pumpkin Race!
It was also hosted my Run Find Your Happy Pace and Running In Sanity to support their Team In Training Team!!
This is the cute Pumpkin bling we received!

We decided to make Orange and Purple MRTT shirts for the race! I think they turned out cute! :)

We hunted someone down to take our picture after we finished!
Obviously being the child of a Running Mom is tough work!
We wore the poor babies out!

Nothing particularly exciting happened during the race, but we had a lot of fun!
We decided to just stick together and do Intervals of run 1 min./walk 1 min.
I think it worked nicely!
We were excited to get out there and run another 5K!
We have been trying to up our mileage lately, because we both have halfs coming up in February and March! So a 3.1 training run was a nice easy run for us! :)

Afterwards, we did what any runner should do after a good run!
We went to Starbucks!

We had Pumpkin Spice Latte's and Pumpkin Bread to stick with our Pumpkin theme! :)
It was delicious!
(P.S. The Starbucks Barista looked at me like I was stupid when I asked if he knew how to work an iPhone camera! There's the difference between an older manager of Chick Fil A and a young Starbucks Barista! lol)

Even Sophie enjoyed her Pumpkin Bread! :)

We had a lot of fun running this Pumpkin 5K and were happy to do it to support TNT!
I always love virtual races, because there is no pressure!

Now I'm looking forward to The Vampire Run 5K on Saturday!
Sophie will be in costume! I can't wait to show pics! :)

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
