Calder Twilight 5K Recap! :)

I have had this post written for quite some time and never added pics...Well I finally did, so here it is! :)

Me and Jes before the race! :)

It really was an awesome race! I loved having a friend there with me! She has been suffering from some back issues and wanted to take it slow and I told her that my pace would definitely be slow enough for her! It was! We ran the first mile together just chit chatting away and from then on it was a run/walk! It is just so humid down here that I still have trouble running without walking. My body is just not used to it anymore. That's another thing I love about Fort Worth! It may be 100 degrees, but when humidity is 20% and there's a small breeze, it is more tolerable than down here!

Yes I realize I have horrible form and Jes has PERFECT form! lol :)

Despite the humidity, I STILL managed to PR! It felt awesome seeing that giant time clock say 42 minutes as I ran by! I absolutely love the feeling of that accomplishment! I can't wait to run another race!

In this picture, we are looking at the AWESOME volunteers at the end of the race that were taking off our reusable chips from our shoes! This was awesome because we did NOT feel like bending over after that! HaHa :)

Now I'm trying to concentrate on half marathon training, but I've lost my mojo again!

I made myself get outside monday and just go for a 1.5 mile walk. After I started walking, of course I felt like running, but I was not wearing the proper "equipment" (aka sports bra) to run so I just stuck with power walking and it was nice to enjoy the time with my daughter in the stroller! I need to do that more often! :)

So now the MRTT Virtual Half is 7 weeks away and I'm getting more nervous! I HAVE to finish it! I want my bling! Plus I know it will make myself feel better knowing I can do 13.1 miles in a day, before having to do it in less than 4 hours next March!

I'm wanting to sign up for more 5K's in the fall, because I enjoy them so much now! Maybe even a 10K if I can find a good one! :)

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
