I chose...

The Komodosport LS in pink! :)

I want to Thank for choosing me for the April's Monthly winner!
I'm sure they didn't know it's my birthday month, but these will make a great birthday present! :)
The last year of my 20's! Eek!

I  started my day with a 3.75 morning run, so this made 4 days in a row! The wind was bad again and it looked like rain, but I just stayed nearby the complex so I could run back if I needed, but it never rained!  I might have made it to 4, but a certain princess was getting antsy in her stroller. :) She has been so good for me that I didn't want to ruin it by keeping her in longer.

I then took a trip to try on some FiveFingers! Since I already had a pair and new the size, I just wanted to try on the couple of different kinds to make sure that size was still ok and try to make a final decision. And I did! I also got suckered into buying the socks...I haven't opened them yet, because I am not entirely sold on them. Has anyone used the toe socks with the FiveFingers? I get horrible blisters with my TrekSports and was thinking of trying them with those. Just not sure yet. Let me know your opinions on the socks please! :)

And this makes 2 blog posts in a row! Seeing people comment on here and my Facebook page truly did encourage me to run and post again today! Thank you everyone! :)

  1. YAY!!!! Those are awesome!!! I would have gotten the pink too, but the womens sizes are too small, so I went with the neon green in the mens. I LOVE my Komodosport LS's and brag about them on my blog all the time! I wish you were close to Maine then we could run together in our fancy shoes! ;) PS... Added your link to my blog!

    1. Good to know you like them too! I can't wait to try them out! :) And thank you so much for adding my link! That is awesome!! I feel special now! lol :)

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
