My First 5K! Finally! :)

I just signed up for my very first 5K!

This Saturday! Soooo Excited!

I thought about it yesterday and asked my local Mom's Run This Town group if they new of any St. Patrick's Day Races this weekend and I was told about this one! One of the other ladies in our group will be meeting me there and we will run it together. They have a festival before the race, so the kids can play! I'm not sure how much Sophie can do, but I think she will have fun being outside and around people! They will have balloon animals also, so maybe I can get her one of those. :)

On Monday (yesterday) I ran my first 3.1 miles, without walking, with the jogging stroller! Since I hadn't run in over a week, I was pretty proud of myself! I was pretty upset with myself for not running in a week, so I was absolutely determined to make this one count! And I did! That's what helped me decide that it was time to run my first 5K! I've been putting it off for several reasons. The biggest was being just scared to do it by myself...But it's time for me to get over that, and time to rack up some race miles! I'm ready! :)

Also since the last time I've written, I took my daughter to the park!

This was her first time and she had an absolute blast! I've been looking for a park for a while now, and just happened to find this one and was so glad I did!
I met a fellow new mommy who has a 7 month old daughter who likes to swing too! :)
She likes to walk the trails around the park and then let her daughter play! We exchanged numbers so we can go walking together! We walked once last week, but it was sooooo windy that we had to cut it short. Then a storm moved in that afternoon and didn't leave until Sunday afternoon. We have plans to walk again this week, and I'm excited to just get outside and enjoy some adult conversation! Even if it is mostly about our adorable kiddos! :)

I am so excited for Saturday and am working on putting some green into a race day outfit! Can't wait! :) I'll let you know how it goes! :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day! :)

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
