I ♥ 3.1

I am still loving the 5K distance!

I did end up running on Friday and Saturday as well, which completed my week with 14.5 miles! WooHoo! That is the most miles I have run in a week...ever! It feels good to say! I actually had planned on taking Saturday off as a rest day and I didn't head out the door when I woke up, but all I could think about all morning was running! It was crazy and awesome at the same time! My mind was consumed with running instead of food! That's a first in my head! Haha :) I headed out that afternoon instead. It was another gorgeous day and I enjoyed it! I ended up taking Sunday off and new I needed it!

This morning, I woke up wanting to run again! My hubby had the day off, so he watched our daughter while I headed out by myself. This time, it was a cloudy, gloomy morning. That didn't stop me though! I ran the entire 3.1 miles without stopping to walk! I enjoyed every second! I love listening to my music and sometimes catch myself dancing and singing. I bet that's entertaining to all the people passing me on their bikes! HaHa :)

I hope everyone has a great week!

Oh and by the way....She's standing now!!!

ALLLLL the time! She loves it! It's her new favorite thing!
She's getting too big too fast!
I just love her :)

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
