Our first Walk!

Tonight, lil S and I decided it was time to take our first walk in the neighborhood! :)

I decided it was best if she went in just a diaper so she wouldn't get to hot :)

Me happily pushing my jogging stroller! (With some crazy hair! lol) :)

The jogging stroller is wonderful! :) I love it! She slept the whole time in her carseat. She even did well with the bumps! I can't wait until I can get cleared to start C25K! I think running in the evenings will work just fine. It's pretty shaded where I was, so lil S wasn't in the sun and the breeze actually kept us pretty cool! :) I have my doctor's appointment on Monday and hopefully I will be cleared to get started! I know I will definitely be burning some calories running AND pushing that stroller! Especially up the hills!

Apparently I am one of the lucky ones that breastfeeding has helped immensely. I have already lost all of the 24 lbs I gained while pregnant, plus another 3! :) I can't wait to start C25K again so I can start losing more! I still have 89 lbs I would like to lose to make it to my goal weight! That's still a lot, but starting at 111 lbs to lose in September 2009, 89 doesn't look so bad! :)

I am excited to get back to writing this blog again also! Hopefully I can find time while feeding Sophia to write! I just need a good app for blogger on my iPhone. I spend A LOT more time on there since it's so easy to use while feeding lil S.

I will leave you with some new cute pictures of my little girl! :)

  1. I can't believe you've already lost all your baby weight - that's awesome! Good luck with your doctors appointment...hope it goes well!

  2. She is precious! Yay for getting out and about!

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
