I ❤ Gadgets :)

Cody and I just walked my first mile in....forever! haha :) It was just a leisurely walk, but I decided to use my Garmin Forerunner just for the heck of it! :) I got it from my in-laws for Christmas and hadn't used it yet! I mainly wanted to play! haha :) We discovered a new little trail that's great! The trail leads you under a bridge, so I was always too afraid to to go this way by myself. With Cody by my side, though,  we decided to explore! Little did I know that there was a beautiful little trail on the other side of that bridge! It is surrounded by tree's and really pretty houses! It has been there all these months and we never knew! I still may not brave it by myself (since I can't exactly run or defend myself at 7 months pregnant lol), but I will try to get Cody to take me walking down there on his days off! I also did not think to take pictures! I may have to do that next time! :)

It was a good little walk for a pregnant girl like me! I am in my Third Trimester now and will start Week 30 on Thursday! Very exciting! :) I can't wait until I get to meet my little Sophia! :) I also can't wait to use my jogging stroller and go walking with her! :) Maybe I need to get her a cute running headband and a jogging outfit to match momma! haha :) I will leave you with my 28 week picture! :)

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
