On to the Half!

Yesterday, I started my 1/2 marathon training! I decided to get out there and brave the sidewalk next to out apartments. There was plenty of traffic and at every entrance and exit of the other complexes I had to dodge cars. It's funny though, cuz that actually made the time go by faster! Then the last half mile I ran all the way around our complex. I knew there was a nice sized hill there, so I decided to try it. I did not make it all the way up without walking! haha But that's ok, I just need a little practice! :)

I am using a training plan on the website MiCoach by Adidas. I set up the plan according to my race dat of March 27, 2011. It gave me a 21 week training plan to follow. It tells me how many minutes to run instead of miles. I actually like this better since I am used to that with the C25K program. One day down, 21 weeks to go! :)

23 days to my first 5K and Thanksgiving! I am still unsure of where I will be running the 5K (my hometown or my new city). I guess I won't know until the last minute! That will just make it more interesting! :) After that, I plan on running several more 5K's in December and January just for fun! :)

This is the one I will run if I'm in Fort Worth :)

I never wrote a post about my wonderful necklace I got from Amy Cornwell Designs!
I was hoping to get a cute pic of it, but this is about the best I could do....
It says "a runners heart" on the bottom, with a heart stamp in the middle. I love it!
I have already been wearing it around town! :)
Thanks again Amy! :)

Is anyone else planning on running a Turkey Trot?
Have you started decorating for Christmas already? I haven't yet, but really want to!

  1. Christmas? I've barely taken my Halloween stuff down! I think I'll be Turkey trotting here in town...hopefully it won't be pelting ice this year.

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
