Almost Thanksgiving!

Day 15: I am Thankful for our new apartment! I now have more room, an extra bedroom, and extra bathroom! We also have a fireplace with a mantel. I can't wait to hang our Christmas stockings on our mantel this year! :)

Day 16: I am Thankful for finding a job! I enjoyed my time of rest, but I am excited to be back at work. I feel productive again. I feel like I can call myself a Nurse again. I am working for an Allergy and Asthma clinic and deal with a lot of sick people with allergy problems. I have to spend some one on one time with nasal mucus (aka snot, lol). It may not be glamorous, but so far I like the job! :)

Day 17: I am Thankful for my GPS. If had not received it for Christmas from my wonderful in-laws, I would be a lost duck in this new area! It has taken me to all of my job interviews, to grocery stores, restaurants, and to visit my brother and friends! It will also take me home for Christmas! :) It has been a life saver up here! :)

Day 18: I am Thankful for Netflix! I love that I am able to watch a ton of movies instantly on my laptop or TV! Most new movies we just get on Redbox so we don't have to wait for them to come in the mail, but the other stuff you just feel like watching for the heck of it, you can just pull it right up whenever you want to! :)

Day 19: I am Thankful for my new Kitchen. Yes this goes right along with the new apartment, but it deserves special love! :) It is so open! And I love the countertops! They don't show dirt as bad. lol :) I love that I can talk with the hubby while I'm cooking and he is in his computer. It's just been wonderful! :)

Day 20: I am Thankful for getting Cable!! We have not had cable in 5 years (which was perfectly fine with me). This year, I get to watch all of the holiday shows on TBS, ABC Family, and the Hallmark channel! I am totally a sucker for those cheezy shows! :) I am so excited! :)

Day 21: I am Thankful for my husband's job. Today he does not have to go to work till almost noon and I get to spend the morning with him! It looks like it will be a great job for him! It won't allow us to go home for Thanksgiving, but I am just thankful that he has a good job now! :)

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
