30 Days of Thanks!

Several of my blogger friends have decided to start a 30 day of Thanks on their blogs.
Always a Reason to Run  has put out an invitation for us all to follow!

Here is what she wrote:

"Last year, during the month of November, I completed 30 days of Thanks on my blog.  I am going to start it up again today.  Everyday during November, I am going to post about one thing I am thankful for: it can be serious, silly or simple.  I have so many reasons to be grateful; I want to share the gratitude.  I invite you to try it on your blog, too."

Since I missed Day 1 & 2, I will make them short and sweet:

1. I am Thankful that my hubby found a good job. Even if it is in a different city away from what we have always known! It's the journey together that is making it enjoyable!

2. I am Thankful for cool weather! I love the cold! I am hoping to see snow this year, even though all of the weather men say we won't his year.

Now for today!

I am Thankful for being unemployed. I know this is something strange to be thankful for, but I know that God has a plan for me! I believe that He knew I needed a break and I needed more time for Him. To be in His Word and just listen. I have had 2 weeks of this and know that it truly has been for the best. I don't take change well and being able to have this time to get used to my new city and make my apartment feel more like home, has been a true blessing.

As for my run today, I ran down the sidewalks of my apartment again. 2 miles today! I just couldn't get my body to go anymore. The sun was also setting, so I was trying to make it back before all the crazies came out. HaHa :) I'm still not completely comfortable with random people walking down the street, and even though I do carry mace, I don't want to be out in the dark with them! :) I am thinking about doing my Friday run tomorrow, and my Saturday "long" run on Friday. My hubby has the weekend off and I want to spend the whole weekend with him! :) I will let you know how that goes!

* Will you be able to join in the 30 Days of Thanks?
* Do you like running in the dark down your street?

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
