30 Days of Thanks Catch up! :)

So I was unaware of how far behind I had become! Time to play catch up again! They will all be short, sweet, and to the point! :)

Day 9: I am thankful for my bestie Crissy! She has been like a sister to me for the past 9 years! I miss her a lot now that I moved away. We barely even have time to talk on the phone! I miss our Target dates. :) I am so glad she has been part of my life. I don't know where I would be without her! :)

Day 10: I am thankful for my little brother (Who is actually 6'2ish, so not so little haha). He is an amazing guitar player. He is written his own songs and you can listen to them Here. He is also in a band called The Hollow Empire. I am so proud of everything he does. He graduated from Texas A&M with an Electrical Engineering degree, which shows you how incredibly smart he is. I am so glad that I was able to move closer to him and spend more time with him! :)

Day 11: I am thankful for my sister-n-law! I couldn't have asked for a better one! Her hubby is pretty cool too haha. :) I don't get to see them very often, but I am honored to call her family! I'm hoping one day she and her hubby will  move closer to us! We are working on it! :)

Day 12: I am thankful for beautiful fall days. Where it's in the 50's outside and we can have all our windows open and enjoy the fresh air! I love my tree I have outside my patio window! :)

Day 13: I am thankful for PUMPKIN! I may not have been able to carve it for Halloween...
But at least I was able to get some yummy pumpkin seeds from it!
Thanks to my mom for bringing me the pumpkin as a housewarming gift! :)

Day 14: I am thankful for rest. I have been able to "rest" for the past 3 weeks as I was unemployed. This Tuesday I am doing what they call a "working interview". I will work and shadow a nurse all day and if the office and I feel I can do the job, I will have the job! I am interested to see how it goes! :)

I hope everyone has a great week!!! :)

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
