2.77 and Day 8! :)

I finally got the courage decided to run the other direction down the sidewalk today. I am always leery of trying new things.  But I sucked it up and did it anyway, because I knew I wanted to go a longer distance. The wonderful iPhone app miCoach lets me know how far I've gone and my pace. It even tracks me on the GPS, so I can see where I was when I get back on the computer! I missed a couple of runs last week, due to laziness having other hings to do. :) So, I am making them up this week. That's my plan anyway...I ran 2.7 miles in 45 minutes. I was trying to bet the sun going down and deicded to finish the last 15 min. around the apartment complex. I felt a little safer doing that in the dark. :) I guess I need to get some reflective items for the dark!

I got a lot accomplished today and was able to cross some things off my to-do list. Tomorrow I have a job interview and then I hopefully will complete all of the other "to-do's" I did not get to today. I'm really hoping to get this job, but we will see! :)

On to Day 8 of 30 Days of Thanks!
I am Thankful for Cheese! Another funny one! I love cheese so much. I could eat my weight in it if it was in front of me! Apparently I got this from my mother! haha :) One of my favorite things ever is to dip popcorn chicken from wal-mart in melted Velveeta. Oh my goodness delicious! Yes, I know it is not healthy at all....but sometimes you just gotta have some cheese! :) Maybe that should be my slogan...I run for Cheese! Haha :)

*What is the one thing you could say you run for?

  2. I run for myself and peace of mind. Too many stressful things can be easily dealt with during running - clears the mind.

I'm just like you - just started the running and even downloaded an App for the c25k program! Good luck! I'll definitely keep myself updated on your progress!

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
