Wanted: Park with Trails!!

I drove to 6 different parks in my area today. It is great that there are TONS of parks in my area, but NOT ONE of them had trails for me to run!!!

This is Lake Arlington Park...Very Pretty, but no running trails!

So what did I do after not finding a park?
Why I went shopping of course!
Mostly window shopping. Since I don't have a job at the moment, I don't want to waste money on silly things. I did however buy a piece for my Halloween costume!

This is just a hint of who I will be...More to come this weekend! :)

I did, however, make time to get to our apartment office. There is actually a Treadmill in the "workout" room in the complex, but it has been broken. The office manager let me know that it should be fixed by the end of the week...I hope it is! That would give me more time to find a good park!

I also had a nice time on our patio "car watching" with the puppies!

The puppies had fun too!!! :)
The wind has been blowing today, so the weather was surprisingly nice!
I can't wait until it gets cooler out!

I did another 2 miles on the elliptical last night. At least I am able to keep up my cardio. I just so need to run! I am just afraid to do it alone without my hubby on these streets! Now that he has a "real" job, I will have to wait on him to get home! :)

I am still in the process of job hunting. I got 2 calls today, but I'm not sure they will turn into something. They always want me to have "1 more year experience, or one more certification in something else". Get's you down when you keep hearing that. I'll keep trying though! I know there is a need for nurses somewhere around here!! :)

My day tomorrow looks like this:
Eat breakfast
Apply for jobs
Eat lunch
Apply for more jobs
Possibly go on the elliptical
Eat Dinner
Probably apply for more jobs! :)
Oh and take the dogs out to potty every 10 min...
I am attempting to re-potty train them in the new place!! :)

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!! :)

  1. Applying for jobs is so stressful! I hope you don't have much longer.

And I can't stand parks without trails. Even though I'm not running on them yet, I love having them to walk with my daughter.

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
