Just keep Swimming...

Today I found out that I won a Giveaway hosted by Running Diva Mom! It was a gift certificate for Amy Cornwell Designs! This is what Amy made for Running Diva Mom:
Of Course...I will have to have one with A Runner's Heart on it! Haha :) Just trying to decide on the design! :)
She has the cutest designs from necklaces, to bracelets, keychains, and even clutches made with fabric! Everyone should go check out Amy's designs!  Looks like a great place for Christmas shopping! :)

My title "Just Keep Swimming" of course comes from Finding Nemo! I love that movie. It is very fitting for me right now. I have found my self in a new city and without a job for the first time in 8 years. It's crazy! I was trying to think of stuff I needed to do next week....looks like running and applying for jobs are the only 2 things on my To Do list! :) I'm not sure if I like this or not! I hope boredom eating doesn't start crawling back! I have to admit....I have been a little scared about running in a new city. I had become comfortable on my little 3.6 mile trail. I knew who to expect out there at night and became comfortable with my surroundings. Now I have to find a new trail, in the daytime, with HILLS! It is a little intimidating. I keep putting of running because...well...I don't really like change. But...It is time for a new adventure! Tonight I went to our apartment "workout" room (if you can call it that haha) and did 2 miles on the elliptical. I just needed a little confidence boost that I still have it in me. Tomorrow I will be doing more on the elliptical and I am hoping to go and find a park to run in. I have to just jump in and do it! Wish me luck! I do have a Half-Marathon to train for! :)

  1. Moving to a new city always feel like starting over, which in some ways can be great, but also sucks when we lose all the familiar things that made home feel like home. Hopefully you find a trail that will eventually feel like home again.

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
