Running Diva Mom is having a giveaway for a BIC Band!

BIC Bands stand for "Because I Can" Bands
Their moto is "We run because we can…
for those who can’t so that one day they will!"
The proceeds from the sale of BIC Bands go to support
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
They are for a great cause, so If I don't win the giveaway,
I may even purchase one!
Today was my "rest" day from running. Tomorrow I am supposed to run for 20 min. straight. We will see how that goes. :) I decided to go to the gym for the first time in almost 3 weeks. I did 2 miles on the elliptical. :)  I usual do 4, but I did not have the time today. I went home and had a very yummy Spinach leaf and cheese wrap on a whole wheat tortilla! I was craving cheese, so this hit the spot :)
This evening I decided to try out Yoga at home. I actually bought this DVD in the Dollar aisle at Target. HaHa One whole dollar! It is definitely not the best DVD, but for $1 and 50 min., I think it did the trick. :) It did help me to realize that I need to stretch more. I can barely touch my toes! I want to take a class eventually. I have just been to embarrassed, because I am not limber enough. I feel like I need to practice before I do this in front of others! I also need to purchase some better Yoga DVD's. Anyone have any suggestions?
I am excited, yet extremely nervous about running for 20 straight minutes tomorrow. I know myself and I know I will be very disappointed and discouraged if I don't make it all the way... So I hope I do!

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
