Big Announcement!

It's Big Announcement time!

Cody and I...are moving to Fort Worth!!!
Cody has found a job in the area and we are moving October 16th!
I am so excited!
We have already started packing...
Our apartment looks like a fort with all of the cardboard and Rubbermaid taking over!

We have added at least 4 more boxes since this picture! It's crazy!
And you can barely tell anything is missing!
We have been so crowded in our little 1 bedroom apartment...
Now we will have a 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment, with a fireplace and a little patio!

This is our new pool! :)

Can't wait to share pictures of the place in a few weeks! :)

Now for tonight's Run...

It went great in the fact that I shaved 15 seconds of my 2 mile time! :)
However, I really was not very motivated...
Cody did not go with me, so I didn't have him to motivate me. And since my lovely little dog chewed my brand new earphones (after only one use!), I had to use Cody's...one of the rubber pieces is missing on them...SO I only heard music in my right ear...I felt like I was lopsided the whole time! lol. That did not help with my motivation. I skipped last night for various exscuses reasons. I'm not sure what's going on...I'm still excited about it, I just have the move and everything I have to do before then on my mind...Hope I get over this soon! I did run 2 miles in 27 minutes and 45 seconds! And walked the last 1.2 miles. Total was 55 minutes. I can't wait until I can shave that time down drastically! I am starting to notice a weight loss as well! I have lost 17 lbs in the past year. the last 7 being in the past 2 1/2 months! Only 95 more lbs to go! I have to keep reminding myself that I will get faster with over time. Especially when I start losing more weight and gaining more muscle! :)

I have already found a park to run at in Fort Worth! I am so excited about that! Fort Worth also has a Runner's Club! I am hoping to join that as soon as I can so I can get hooked up with races and fellow runners! Have I mentioned that I am excited about moving! :)  It looks like they have A LOT of races up there! :) I will have several to choose from!  So exciting! :)

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January
