She-Ra Princess of Power!

Yes...this is what we named our new daughter! Isn't she adorable! She's a 7 week old chihuahua. We are wondering if she might be long-haired or wire-haired. We met the mom, but don't know what the dad looks like. She is so tiny at 2.2 pounds! I had to buy her a "toy" sized collar!

There's a big difference from She-Ra to our 20 lb. dachshund, Samson.

He of course is adorable also, and our first child. He is not, however, adapting to this new change very well. He is 4 yrs old and set in his old man ways. He almost acts like he is scared of her. She likes to play and bite him on the ears and tail and Samson just sits there. She tried to take his toy yesterday and he bit her! It wasn't bad enough to draw blood or anything, but that's still a big no no! We are praying he will adapt and become friends with her. Otherwise, I'm not sure what we will do...

On another note...this heat is killing my running program! It stinks having to wait till 8 in the evening to run. If you miss it by just a few minutes, then it's too dark to go running. I don't have a neighborhood to run in, or even a local park that is safe at night. My husband doesn't want me running at night either, so I'm very limited. The morning workout has never really worked for me, because if I wash my hair after my workout, it takes 4 hrs for it to dry! I have very thick, curly, long hair and I can't blow dry it, because it just makes it incredibly frizzy! So I have the option to either workout in the evening, or go to work with my hair wet.  So far, neither of these options are really working. Looks like I need a new plan!

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
