Humidity=Devil

Humidity is the Devil. Or Debil if you're the Waterboy's momma. :)
I completed Week 3 Day 2 today! It was a lot harder than Day 1. I am blaming it on the humidity. Texas humidity stinks. I feel like I am breathing underwater most days. As soon as you take one step out the door, sweat starts pouring from your body. I wish we could move somewhere where they have all four seasons! That would be fabulous! But until then, lets talk about my run! I started out pretty good with the first 1.5 min. run. My shins were not hurting! Then the 3 min. run came...Could barely take in a breath! But I didn't stop! I kept going, said a few choice words, but kept going none the less. The second 1.5 min. run is when the shins started hurting. Made it through. The last 3 min. run was a little better, because I knew it was the last run of the day. Shins sill hurt, but I still had a mile of walking to go before I stopped. I decided at the last quarter mile that I wanted to push myself and time a quarter mile run. Luckily the track I run on has markers, so I started at one of the 1/4 markers and timed myself to the next one. Exactly 3 minutes! I was so proud of myself! I'm really pumped about my next run! I iced down my shins when I got home. I found these lovely ice packs at Academy for $6. They have served me well.

I have tomorrow off from running, but I'm hoping to get in a little swim time to work my arms. And since I will already be breathing in water, I might as well go swim in it! The hubby and I are leaving for Dallas on Saturday morning, and I have to work all day Friday, so tomorrow will be packing/errand day as well. I will be busy busy! I am looking forward to tomorrows breakfast though! Look what I found tonight!

Yes! It's Peanut Butter & Co's Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter! I have been reading all about this on my fellow blogger's website's and cannot wait to try it in the morning! It looks like I will have another food post after all! :)

  1. Good job on the run, the humidity right now is killer. It's normally more dry in OK but this summer has been unusually humid. Running in the rain is nice too but it hasn't rained here in months.

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
