Fort Worth/Dallas Trip!

Traveling with dogs is an adventure in itself! Samson loves car rides. He slept most of the way. I caught him yawning! He's so sweet. She-Ra, on the other hand, does not travel very well. She ended up whining most of the time. I finally did catch a pic of her while she was sleeping, on the floorboard, on my foot. She can be sweet...when she's asleep! :)

We got to Fort Worth to stay with our friends, Jackie and Brad, on Saturday evening. We went and ate at a good little Mexican Restaurant. I didn't even think about getting pictures. I was so hungry!
Sunday we went and had lunch with my little brother (who is over 6 ft tall and not so little) and his 2 roomies, Isaac and Keith (who are both fellow runners!) We ate at the Twisted Root Burger Co. It's actually been featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives on the Food Network. I had the Peppercorn Bacon Ranch Burger (yes, not healthy at all) and it was soooo good! They give you a name card when they take your order and call it when your order is ready. We were Stevie Wonder. :)

After Lunch we all went to a coffee shop called Opening Bell.

I had the Caramel Mocha Frappe made with Ghiradelli Chocolate. Can we say YUMM!
It was so good that I forgot to take a pic before I started drinking!

After the coffee, Brad, Jackie, the hubby, and I went to the movies to see The Expendables. I have to admit that I am a strange girl and actually enjoyed the movie! I loved all the characters! :)
That evening Jackie made us some delicious Baked Zitti!

One had meat in it and the other was Veggie! I ate the one with mean, tried the veggie one, and they were both delicious! Nice and cheesy! :)

Sunday night we all decided to go for a run. I wrote all about that HERE
It was great to finally finish week 3 and be able to do it with the comfort of friends!
I had half of my very first Luna Bar post-run.
It was pretty good! I will be getting more of these in the future! :)

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
