Bondi Band and books!

I just ordered a Bondi Band today for a fellow Blogger, Callie, who's raising money for her Aunt's radiation treatment. You have to buy them from Callie's website so the money will go to her Aunt and they are only on sale until tomorrow (August 11th) at noon. $5 goes towards her treatment!  I had been eyeing them anyway, and I thought this was a good reason to buy one! :) I got the pink one, of course. :) Can't wait to wear it! :)

Operation Beautiful: Transforming the Way You See Yourself One Post-it Note at a Time

I received my Operation Beautiful book in the mail yesterday! As soon as I opened it, I started reading and looking through it. Cailtin did an amazing job on it! I can't wait to read it all the way though!

The Nonrunner's Marathon Guide for Women: Get Off Your Butt and On with Your Training

I also received  The Nonrunner's Marathon Guide for Women! I have read several chapter's and I am loving it! Dawn Dais is great at making Marathon training sound entertaining. She is very sarcastic while telling you exactly how she felt with her runs. After I accomplish my first 5K and 10K, I hope to use her training schedule to train for a Half & Full Marathon!

Can't wait to keep reading these books! Plus I am still reading ChiRunning and Born to Run! I have a lot of reading to catch up on! :)

  1. Those are all great things to get! I want a Bondi Band. I hate when sweat gets in my face.

Starting over with something new.

Way back in 2012 I started running...for reals... I ran my first Virtual Half Marathon in June and then in the Fall, I started meeting up with a Moms RUN This Town friend 3-4 days a week to walk/run 3-4 miles with our kiddos in the stroller. We started training for the Cowtown Half Marathon and I started dropping weight. By December, I had lost 35 lbs (this was total since having Sophie, not just in 2-3 months) and I looked the best I had looked in a very long while. Then I ran the Cowtown Half in February of 2013, hurt my hip, stopped running, walked the Dallas Rock N Roll Half a month later and then stopped running for good until August of 2013. I then started trying to pick it up a bit here and there while also participating in Stroller Strides.  The thing is...I started gaining weight once I stopped running. Didn't matter if I was doing stroller strides. I just kept getting bigger. First it was just 10 lbs. I kept it at that 10 lb weight gain from August until January

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
