Park Fun/Sickness/Nanny!

I ran only twice last week, because I was so busy, but I did have one of my better runs on Thursday!
I only had time to run 2 miles, and I knew they had to be fast! I had a friend coming over later that morning and the rest of my day was packed! I headed out by myself while my awesome hubby watched Sophie! I do love running with my new BOB, but when I get the chance to go solos, I almost always take it! It showed me how fast I could really go! I'm doing the Jeff Galloway method right now and just changing up me intervals each time to find the right one for me. For this 2 mile run, I did a 1 minute run, 1 minute walk interval. I would run as fast as I could for that one running minute. I really like it! I've also tried 30 sec/30 sec, which I don't seem to like so much. I took Sophie to park last week and did a 3 mile run at a 3min run/2min walk and I liked that one too! It was much more tiring, however. I wouldn't have been able to keep it up as long. So I may stick with 1 min/1min for now.

I am LOVING the cooler weather here in Texas!

I think Fall is finally making it's way here! :)
This week is back in the upper 90's, but it looks like the 80's will be the high next week!
I see a lot more visits to the park with Sophie in our future!!! :)

Here we are at the park after our 3 mile run! Sophie was pooped! haha :)

And here is Sophie enjoying the swings!!

This past weekend I haven't been feeling very well.
I guess I have what they call an "end of summer cold".
I don't like being sick. Especially when I still have to take care of my little one.
I do have to say, however, that she is such a good baby girl!
I spent most of Sunday laying on my living room floor sleeping on and off. I could barely hold my eyes open. Sophie took 2 naps with me and then she played while I was in and out the rest of the day. I was so impressed at how good she was! When I did finally wake up, nothing had been destroyed, and she was a happy baby! This was great considering she has recently discovered toilet paper...and counters...Nothing is safe anymore! haha! But she was so good while I wasn't feeling well. I am one proud momma. :)

This past Friday I started my new job as a nanny!
I will be taking care of a 3 month old and a 5 yr old (when she's not in school). They are 2 of the cutest little girls! And the best part is, I get to bring Sophie along with me! It's a win win situation! I know Sophie will definitely benefit from being around other children! And the 5 yr old gets to see how her little sister will be next year! :) I'm excited to do some fun Pinterest things with Sophie and the 5 yr old this Fall!

And don't forget about my upcoming 5K Foam Fest~Dallas Giveaway!!!
I will be posting it on October 1st! :)

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
