Mother's Day!

I hope all of the moms had a wonderful Mother's Day!
I got these wonderful gifts for Mothers Day! New running shoes (Adidas), a Moms Run This Town Bondi Band, an entry into the Run Like A Mother Mothers Day Virtual 5K, and an awesome Run Like a Mother Bracelet and 5K charm from The Run Home!

I love it! :)

I received this from Sophie after church this morning! I thought it was so sweet for them to do this for all the mommies! I know she didn't actually do this, but I really loved it! I can't wait to see what Sophie will create for me for future Mothers Days! :)

Sophie apparently has another tooth coming in and she was extra cranky today. :( It made me sad to see her in pain. :( Last night she woke up about every hour crying. :( It was not fun for either of us. I spent most of the day cuddling and trying to avert her attention from it.  At about 6 this evening I decided to head out and do my Run Like A Mother Virtual 5K for Mothers Day! Sophie usually likes her stroller and I hoped this would keep her busy and I was right! She just loves people watching! :) Unfortunately she also loves throwing things out of her stroller...like her sippy cup, her toys, her hat, and her socks...I do a lot of picking things up on my runs! Tonight we lost a sock for good. It was one of my favorite pairs of socks of hers too! They had cute little lady bugs on them! I'm considering going and buying another pair...or two! I liked them that much! :)

Me before the run! :)

Us after the run! She's such a cutie! :)

Other than loosing the sock and having to pause my Garmin and look for it, it was a pretty good run! I stil had to take a few walk breaks, but they are becoming shorter and farther in between! I made it to 1.25 miles before having to take my first walk break and even then it was pretty short! It may not have been a PR, but it was still fun to run in my shirt and know a lot of other moms ran today as well! I even had someone tell me Happy Mothers Day while I was running! I thought that was sweet! :)

I only have 3 miles left to complete my JoggerMom Virtual Marathon! Looks like I'll be done this week! Tomorrow I plan on doing an easy 2 miles and break in my new shoes! I may not count it towards it if I don't run. I'll have to see how it goes. I've already tried out one pair of shoes and they ended up being horrible for me. They were so heavy and felt like I was running with bricks on my feet and they sent a sharp pain through my right foot up to my knee. It wasn't pleasant. But thankfully I go to a wonderful running store, The Fort Worth Running Company, and they let me exchange! I seriously love that store and everyone that works there! The employees are just so sweet and helpful! :) I can't wait to try these Adidas out tomorrow!  :)

Soon I will be leaving to go to my hometown for the birth of my bestie's baby girl! I'm so excited to meet her! We are also throwing Sophie's 1st birthday down there so all of the family can be there! I can't believe she almost 1! That is so crazy to me! She's growing up way too fast!

You should all check out my new blogger header! I finally figured out how to make one myself! I hope you like it! :)

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
