A good 4 miles :)

I started out my day having to give up my "babies"...

Samson has been our "baby" for the past 5 years.
She-Ra has been my "baby girl" for the past year.

It was VERY hard for me to say goodbye. I know they are just at my in-laws house, but knowing they are not here with me to greet me when I get home and to cuddle before I go to bed makes me sad. I also know that this is the best thing for my family right now. When the Princess starts crawling, I want the floor to be clean! Samson has a history of biting as well, and I just can't have that at all. I just know that the pro's outweighed the cons. It still makes me sad. I cried all afternoon and I'm trying not to cry now. It almost makes me feel like a failure, because I cannot take care of a child and 2 dogs...But at this time in my life....I just can't.
They need a backyard where they can run around and play. Not stuck in some apartment where they rarely get out because it's hard to walk 2 dogs on leashes while holding a baby.
I'm going to miss them sooooo very much.
But I know this will be a good thing...

I have already seen pictures of them at their new home and they look happy. :)
I know that when we buy a house with a backyard they will be my babies again. :)

I say all of that to lead up to why my run was so good.
I needed an outlet...The old me would have run to the store and bought a pint of ice cream and some chocolate and eaten the whole thing in under 5 minutes...The new me knew that all I had to do was just GET OUT of the house...Outside in the sunshine...I just told myself that I would just go for a walk. If it led to running, that would be great, but I needed to be outside...So I went...And I ran...And not only did I run Week 4 Day 2 (yes I forgot to repeat day 1 lol) of C25K, but I ran for an extra 14 min! Totaling 30 minutes of running in the 1 hour and 11 minutes I was out there! No, it was not a consecutive 30 min. I definitely had some major walking breaks in between, but I did it! I covered 4 miles in total. It felt good. It felt really good! I love the feeling I have afterward knowing I didn't eat that Ice Cream. I did something better for myself! Luckily, I have the best lil Princess ever and she let me go that whole 4 miles. She did have one little cranky bit, but soon found a "comfortable" position in her carseat and was happy again.

Apparently that was comfortable. HaHa :)

My run was great and I'm happy.
Now onto moving into a new apartment and starting over...Again...

This time last year I was moving to Fort Worth from 6 hours away.
You can read some about that Here, Here and Here. :)

This time I'm moving 20 min. away. Still stressful, but a lot easier.

Let the packing continue!

  2. :( I know I would be sad to. I am praying my dog gets along with Ezra or we will have a problem as well. He is my little baby so I know there will be some jealously. Glad you got your run in! I know you did feel great after you finished that. :0)

  3. I hope you feel better! I know Samson and She-Ra will miss you and your hubby, but they will be happier in a quieter place with a yard. And it's not goodbye forever - you can see them again and eventually they will live with you guys again. I will miss your dogs too, but this is a very good thing for you guys. Btw - I have LOTS of boxes for you. :-)

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
