Hi...My name is Sarah...

AND I AM ADDICTED TO RUNNING!!!

I ran Week 5 Day 3 today. It was the "dreaded" 20 minute run...
Well it went fabulous and I feel fabulous!
Now, you can ask me how I feel tomorrow, because I have a feeling I will have muscles hurting that I don't know I have!

The run started out great. I was nervous, but confident that I could do it! My stubbornness actually came in handy tonight! Haha :) My ankles were burning a little at first, but once I kept going they worked themselves out. I ended up running 1.37 miles in 20 minutes. Now, that's about a 16 minute mile, which in the long run, really stinks! I MUST start working on speed! BUT it is still a HUGE accomplishment for me! I just cannot get over how good the whole thing felt! It was absolutely amazing! Walking afterward, I twittered the exciting news. :) I totally had the "Runner's High" that I see everyone blogging about. So...I decided to run another half a mile. Well then I said lets make it .75. Well I never saw the .75 marker, so I kept going! And before I knew it...I had run another MILE!!! I was ecstatic!!!

The one thing I must complain about is... my sock rolling down into my shoe on my left foot. I ended up running my last .25 with the sock rolled down. It looks like I need new socks!! Anyone have any suggestions on a good brand!?!

In the end, I ran 2.37 miles and walked the rest to make it to 3.25 miles altogether. I feel great! I am ready to do it again! Now I just have to work on speed! :)

  1. My favorite socks are by Hanes and the middle of them is a compression style and supports my arches really well. I have also tried the Under Armour and Adidas brands of 'breatheable' socks and yes, they are breatheable, but my foot always slides in my shoe! It's just important to find what works for you!

  2. Thanks Kelsey! I have heard about the "shoe slipping around" socks. I know they make ones that are double layered so that won't happen, but I don't know if they are worth the money! :) I might have to try those Hanes ones! :)

Awesome job on your run today!! Speed will improve with time. Don't push it..... Get comfortable with your distance first before you work on speed.... I know from experience... I was on the injured list for 9 months.... As far as socks, I love, love the Experia socks by Thorlos.... They are awesome!!!!
BTW, I'm a follower now andcwill add you to my blog roll!! Exciting to see my button on your page!!! Thanks again!!

Park Problem Solved! :)

Looks like I have found my park! It's about 10 min. away driving, but it is totally worth it! My run wasn't all that exciting, but the Park was! :) Here are my new running buddies! :) They are fun to watch while running by! :)  Yes that's my finger...The sun was very bright and I didn't see it! lol :) I just love it all!  Stopping to take pictures! :) I have to Thank my mom who actually Google Maped this Park for me! :) So glad she found it! :)  As for the run, I really don't know how long the trail is, so I don't even know how far I went! I made it all the way around, walking, in less than 15 min. so I am thinking that it is at least a mile. If it is, then I did 3 miles today! If not, then...I don't know! It's times like these that I wish I had my Garmin ! :) For the first 2 laps, I decided to just Run/Walk. I would run 5 min. walk for 1 or 2 min. Then the last lap I just walked the whole time. Just to enjoy it! I just have to say...the hills are

Cowtown Half Recap!

On Sunday, February 24, 2013 I ran my first official Half Marathon!  Before the race started, I met up with these fellow MRTT ladies!  Pic from How My World Runs It was freezing cold (yes 33 degrees is freezing to this Texan! haha) and I was hoping it wouldn't warm up too much because I run so much better in the cold. I ended up wearing my jacket the whole time and was completely comfortable! We had a wind advisory in affect and I think the wind made it even cooler. This was also my first time to run with my new haircut and with my hair down! Didn't bother me at all! Short hair for the win! :) I was in the very last Corral to start. Yes, I know I'm slow. Get Over it!<---Saw that saying on several shirts throughout the race!  Looks like I need one! haha :) I had to post this pic, because I have no idea what I was doing, nor remember even taking it! Haha! About 20 min before the race, I headed to the porta potty's. Yeah, I should have
